PWD social club of Bamenda, outsmarted Tonnerre Kalara Club of yaounde 1#0 in a day 24 game of the Cameroon league one Championship, at the CAF excellence center in Mbankomo, to keep their perfect record that play ground.
Ndeh Collins’ half volley at the 22nd minutes from Ade Mienolf’s corner kick, was not only his first goal for the club in over two years of service, but meant the Abakwa keep their unbeaten record at the CAF excellence center.
When Tonnerre Kalara Club threatened and searched for the equalizer through the likes of captain Gael Gregoire Nkama, and Franck Steve Belobo, PWD’s tactician, David Pagou read the game well, and brought in Cho Maxwell, to replace Neloh Kevin, before the resumption of the second half, before he later took off the exhausted Frank Albert Balla Atangana, and brought in fresh blood in Ahudu Lukong.
With Mermoz Zoospiro seemingly nursing an injury, Pagou sacrificed him for Ngwang Brian Nyaba, and immediately switched formation from a 3_5_2, to a 4_4_2 system, with Boung Joel Ondoa, Burinyuy Derrick, Ngwang Brian and Basile Yankam, constituting the back four, while Ndeh Collins, Ade Mienolf, Cho Maxwell, ran the show at the Midfield.
A second yellow card to Mael Dindjeke, meant the Abakwa Boys would finish the last 20 minutes of the game with 10 men, but Burinyuy Derrick and teammates succeeded in keeping Tonnerre at Bay until when referee, Aboubakar Moussa put an end to the game
Goalkeeper Shinynsa Didemus made his league debut for the club, his second game in two years (his previous outing was in a 5#1 win over Kohi of maroua last year in the Cameroon cup), and keep a clean sheet.
PWD Supporters have now nicknamed the CAF excellence center in Mbankomo, as their new home ground of Victories, following impressive results recorded there this season.
In fact PWD has never lost a game in Mbankomo, and out of six games played in yaounde this season, five have been in Mbankomo, where PWD has won four (Canon, Dragon, Colombe and Tonnerre) and drew one, against AS Fortuna. The other game played in yaounde, was at the military stadium (the Ngoa Ekelle Stadium), where PWD lost 1#2 to Eding sport of the Lekie.
The latest win takes PWD up to the second spot on the league’s table, with 40 points, just two points behind league leaders, Colombe of the Dja and Lobo.
