26_year_old Cameroonian forward, Diederrick Joel Tagueu Tadjo, was on target on Wednesday evening, as his club Maritimo edge pass Boavista, in an advanced round 31 game of the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Joel Tagueu’s 27 minute effort was enough for Maritimo to secure three vital points, as he turned home a fine cross from Angolan Midfielder, Felício Mendes João
Tagueu was making just his 16th appearances in the Primeira Liga this season, where he has now scored two goals.
Another Cameroonian, Franck-Yves Bambock, was rock solid in the heart of the Midfield for Maritimo.
Boavista finished the game with nine men, following red cards to Fabiano and Paulihno.
The latest victory takes coach José Gomes and his Maritimo boys to 37 points and on the 11th position on the log. It was also a third consecutive win for Maritimo, after recording wins over highly ranked Benfica and Santa Clara.
Joel Tagueu, Franck Bambock and their Maritimo mates will next host Rio Ave on Monday July 13, before an away trip to Vitoria Guimaraes on Sunday July 19, 2020, and rounding off the league at home against Famalicão.
