Some 35 licensed players for the 2019/2020 season of North West regional league club, Rangers FC of Bafut have received food items from the management of the team. The food items were distributed to the players Friday July 30, 2020 at the club headquarters in Bamenda.
Recently through the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o Fils donated these food items to 20 players of regional league clubs. With an effective of 35 players, the team management decided to add the items so that all 35 players can benefit from the largese.
While handing over the gifts to the players, the team president, Mr Neba George Suh reminded the players of the necessity to stay safe during this Covid-19 period.
“My dear players, this pandemic is real. Always take all the preventive measures very serious. Wear your face masks if you must go out, respect social distancing and wash your hands regularly with running water”, President Neba George Suh told the players.
Though disappointed that the season was ended prematurely, the president believes that the objective of the team remains same for the upcoming season; that is to qualify for the mini interpools and represent the region at the national interpools and qualify for the elite two championship.
Each player went home with 5kg of rice, 2 litres of groundnut oil and 4 sardines each.
This gesture from the management of the team is the second from a regional league club. The first was Rainbow FC who carried out the same distribution exercise last Wednesday July 29.
Prior to the abrupt end of the championship, Rangers FC of Bafut were second in Group B of the North West regional league.
