PWD’s captain, Burinyuy Derrick Laiver, has vowed that no team will move away with a point from Bamenda, as they prepare the embark on their last 10 games of the season.
PWD has six more home games to play this season, (against Eding sport, Dragon, Feutcheu, Colombe, Fovu and Stade Renard), with just four away games left for the Abakwa Boys (Bamboutos, Union, AVION, and APEJES).
PWD has recorded most of their wins out home, especially in yaounde. Though the Abakwa Boys have put up some disappointing performances while on home turf, Burinyuy Derrick thinks it’s to get the job done at home.
“The next games at home in Bamenda, we are very sure to win. You can not come to Bamenda and take away a point there”, said Burinyuy Derrick.
The next two teams to visit Bamenda, will be strugglers, Eding sport of the Lekie and Dragon of Yaounde, and Buri says their is no panic in PWD’s camp.
“We are not afraid of Eding sport. We respect our opponents, and respect our game plan”, he added.
PWD has recorded 11 wins, seven draws and six defeats this season, and seems not to be giving up on their title ambitions. Burinyuy Derrick says their driving force this season is togetherness.
“We play as one man . Our strength is team spirit and hard work”.
The former Yong Sports Academy man has been instrumental in PWD’s upturn in form, as he has fitted in perfectly in the heart of coach David Pagou’s back three system. He got his first goal for the club last week, with a calmly slotted penalty against Cotonsport, in Bamenda on match day 23 action.
