Foncha Street FC of Bamenda made a truimphant entry into the 2019 National interpools, with a 3#1 win over Étoile Filante of Garoua.
The Northwest regional Champions have witnessed a massive turnaround since Anumewa Frankline took over as head coach earlier this season. With one game up and one more to go, the tactician is already looking forward to his sides next game on Saturday against Mercure SA of Bafia.
Speaking to kick442.com after their first game, Coach Anumewa said “it was not an easy game, but my boss proof to them that physically they are upright and technically. Étoile Filante had a good team, but I started the season without a defeat and we will continue like that till the end”.
Foncha Street’s three goals in the game were scored by Brilant Awahmukala Tanwie. Coach Anumewa says he was surprised by the forwards performance. “He is the top scorer of the team, so it’s just normal that he scores at anytime. He is a good scorer”.
Foncha Street FC will be on standby for game two on Wednesday, before taking on Mercure SA on Saturday, in their last group game. Anumewa thinks it’s advantage Foncha Street. “As we stand by on Wednesday, it is a plus for us, because we have enough time to rest and also watch our next opponents play. So we will strategize on how we are going to tackle them”.
“I’m going to impose my system on them”.
Anumewa Frankline is in his second interpools, after that of last year, when he was assistant coach of Rainbow FC of Bamenda. He is hoping for a win on Saturday against Mercure SA of Bafia, to seal qualification for the league two.
