The head coach of the intermediate lions of Cameroon, Yves Clement Arroga has said Wednesday’s friendly game against Cameroon league one side, Dragon Sportive of yaounde, is to evaluate the level of work done for close to two weeks.
Arroga and 28 players selected from teams across Cameroon, have being in camp since Monday November 18, 2019, as they prepare for the 2020 African Nations championship, that will take place in Cameroon.
For over nine days of work, with two training sessions everyday at the Yaounde Annex 2 stadium at Omnisport, Arroga and his staff will have the opportunity to evaluate the players, when they take on Dragon at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium on Wednesday, as from 5pm.
Speaking to the team media officer of the intermediate lions, Yves Clement Arroga emphasized on the importance of the friendly.
“After close to two weeks of working together, we need this friendly game to see what level these players taking part in the first camping, have attain. Therefore it will be a big taste, to see their individual and collective capacity, which will give us the opportunity to choose the best from there”, said Arroga.
It will be the very first game for the Arroga led team, since they officially took office on October 11, 2019.
While in camp, the intermediate lions have had high profile visits from Indomitable lions coach Antonio Conceição Da Silva, and recently the newly appointed Director of CHAN 2020, Michel Dissake Mbarga. Reports from the team Doctor, Ndengue Samuel Brice, indicates that all 28 players in camp are in good health, and ready for the friendly.
Yves Clement Arroga has outlined plans of holding at least five campings before the 2020 African Nations championship, to take place in April 2020. The first camping raps up in the days ahead.
