Cameroon league one side, Fovu club of Baham has completed the signing of 23_year_old goalkeeper Daouda Ibrahim, from cotonsport of Garoua.
The shot stopper who has spent five years of his career with cotonsport, has penned a two years deal with the west regional outfit for an undisclosed fee.
The news of his move to FOVU was first announced by Douala based sports journalist, Sayani Aboubakar, who has strong ties with cotonsport.
Daouda Ibrahima has enjoyed most of his career in Garoua, passing through the youths ranks of cotonsport, before his eventual promotion into the first team. He has spend four years with cotonsport’s first team, during which he won the Cameroon league one title with the cotonnites, in 2018.
Daouda has gathered lots of experience with the cotonites, both at local and continental level, as he featured for the cotonnites in both the CAF champions league and Confederation cup.
He mostly played the understudy role at Cotonsport, as their Goalkeeping compartment was blessed with the likes of Cameroon international, Simon Omossola and Togolese international, Sabirou Bassa Djeri.
The young goalie has however answered cotonsport’s call, whenever he is given the opportunity. He was at the top of his game, as Cotonsport held PWD in a one tie in Bamenda, in the just ended campaign.
Daouda Ibrahim will definitely be a plus for FOVU in the upcoming campaign.
