The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, is currently honouring their promise of providing financial assistance to more one thousand players drawn from the Elite one and two championships, and the women’s league.
On Friday April 17, 2020, FECAFOOT announced that 25 players from each league one and two clubs, and 20 players from each of the 12 women’s league clubs, will benefit from the gesture. The Seidou Mbombo Njoya led bureau is now honouring their promise, as many players have testified haven received their own share.
The process that started since Tuesday April 21, is still underway, but man elite One players have already received the orange money alert from the FA.
Kick442.com cornered two players who have benefited from FECAFOOT’s largesse and they were full praises to FECAFOOT’s management.
“I’m so happy because it has come to light. When the news broke out, I thought it will never come to pass, but at the end we are very happy because this came at a time when I was financially down“, said Mbah Louiz, one of the team captain of current league one leaders, PWD of Bamenda.
He added “Due to the suspension of the league because of the Coronavirus pandemic, we had no other way to make money because Football is our only source of income. With the help from FECAFOOT, we will be able to take care of our basic necessities and have what to put on our tables. I want to thank the FECAFOOT boss (Seidou Mbombo Njoya) and his entire team for this kind gesture and we pray that it continues”.
To PWD Youngster, Nchindo John Bosco, he described the FECAFOOT’s assistance as “magical”. “This money came like a magic to me because I was not expecting anything from FECAFOOT, but it just came as a surprise. This money will help me pay my monthly bills for the gym”.
Each league one player will receive the sum of 50,000FCFA, while it is 30,000FCFA is the amount for league two players and 25000FCFA for players of the woman’s league.
The gesture from FECAFOOT is one kind, and is one of the several laudable initiative since the Seidou Mbombo Njoya led bureau took over. In August 2019, the Federation made a similar move shouldering the expenses of clubs at the 2019 National Inter-pools competition in Bertoua.
