Cameroonian right back Fai Ngoran Suiru Collins, has agreed a deal to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Tai FC from Belgian top tier side Standard leige.
The 29_year_old native of Nso in the North West region of Cameroon, has been on duty with the Cameroon national team taking part at the 33rd edition of the Africa Nations Cup on home soil.
Despite his heavy involvement at the AFCON, his management team has been busy exploring different opportunities for the former FC Bamenda man.
Al_Tai FC announced on Saturday that the have secured the service of the versatile full back, in a deal understood to be worth over €300,000.
His former club, Standard leige also confirmed the move, with a message on their Twitter handle which reads “thanks for all ‘uncle”.
Fai Collins has been a regular figure in the ranks of Standard leige since he joined the club from Dinamo Bucharest in 2016. He has made 162 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing 22 assists, and won the Belgian cup with the club twice (2016 and 2018).
Fai has started all of Cameroon’s five games at the ongoing AFCON, providing three assists. His assist for Toko Ekambi’s opener, provided the spark Cameroon needed to see off Gambia in the quarter final.
His new club Al_Tai FC posted a congratulatory message to their new signing. ”Congrats on qualifying for the semi final.
Fai Collins will be hoping to win his second AFCON trophy with the indomitable lions, after that of 2017 in Gabon. He will now ply his trade at club level with Al_Tai FC, who have in their ranks Zimbabwe’s captain Knowledge Musona, who was recently eliminated from the AFCON.
Al_Tai FC is currently ranked 11 out of the 16 teams taking part in the Saudi Professional League.
