PWD’s lead trainer, David Pagou has hailed his boys, for braving all the odds to grab 3 important points from Tonnerre Kalara Club of yaounde, in a day 24 game of the Cameroon league one Championship.
Ndeh Collins’ 22nd minute goal was enough to hand PWD their 11 win of the season, as they maintain their place in the top half of the league’s table.
Speaking after the game, coach David Pagou admitted it was a difficult trip to yaounde, but applauded the efforts from his boys.
“We came all the way from Bamenda, with the bad nature of the road and all the dust, we braved all the odds to come and look for these 3 points”, said Pagou.
Tonnerre Kalara Club attempted a late fight back especially when PWD was reduced to 10 men, following Mael Dindjeke’s second second yellow card, but the Abakwa Boys kept their calm and got the job done.
“It’s true that it was a bid complicated for us towards the end because we had a red card and played the last 25 minutes with 10 men, but the children reacted well, because physical we were present”, Pagou added.
PWD returns to Bamenda where they will host 15th placed Eding sport on Sunday March 01, 2020 and coach Pagou thinks his side have enough time to be ready for the Eding sport’s challenge.
“We have six days to prepare the game. So we have to go back to Bamenda and prepare ourselves very well. We don’t want to lost a game in our field, because we have not won at home for the past three games, so that match is going to be a must win”.
Eding Sport won the away tie 2#1, and there is certainly going to be some revenge in the air, when the Abakwa Boys welcome them in Bamenda on Sunday.
