Panthere sportive of Nde has defeated APEJES of Mfou 1#0, in Match day one of the 2019/2020 football season.

Panthere had the first attempt of the game at the ninth minute, through Philippe Bertin Essama, but his shot went narrowly wide. APEJES struggled to created any meaningful chance for over half an hour, as a purposeful Panthere put them in all sorts of difficulties.

Abel Grace Makani commanded the APEJES back line beautiful, as they thwarted all incursions from Panthere. 34 minutes on, panthere’s Yaya Ahmadou was brought down in APEJES box, but despite cries for a penalty, referee Chehou Amadaou waved play on.

APEJES had their first shot on target 36 minutes into the game, when Calistus Anjeh’s shot was well saved by debuting goalkeeper, Fru Anye Derick. APEJES captain Yerima Issa Bouhari was the first player to get into the referee’s books, after a nasty challenge on his opponent. All attempts from both sides to get an opener before the break, were fruitless.

The two sides effected a series of substitutions in the first 10 minutes of the second segment, with coach Ndongo Ema Jean of APEJES bringing on Mbouwe Kekoh and Abdoulaye Yamaha in the place of Moubarack Gerard and Cedric Mbaga respectively. On the side of Panthere, Emmanuel Ondoa was brought on for Yaya Ahmadou.

APEJES looked more organized in the second segment, and came close to raising the curtains on several occasions. The two goalkeepers, Dande Junior and Fru Anye Derrick, came to the rescue of their respective teams on several occasions.

More substitutions then followed, with APEJES’ Joel Emmanuel Kofana ceding his place to Marc Bertin Atangana while Panthere’s Junior Evina was replaced by Stephane Cedrig Mopawill.

Substitute Emmanuel Ondoa put Panthere in front at the 83rd minute, squeezing a shot past goalkeeper Dande Junior, after a beautiful series from the Nzui Manto.

The scores remained unchanged, as Panthere sportive of Nde makes a winning return to the league one championship.
