The Cameroon league one championship enters day 23 action on Wednesday February 19, 2020, with some mouthwatering encounters on schedule.

PWD Vs Cotonsport

PWD’s starting XI vs UMS

Third placed PWD social club of Bamenda plays host to cotonsport of Garoua, who are currently ranked second on the league’s standings, with just two points separating both sides. Cotonsport has 38 points, while PWD has gathered 36 points in 22 games this season. Both sides have had a rollercoaster season this far. PWD squandered a golden opportunity to go top of the league, following a 0#3 defeat to YOSA this weekend, while cotonsport’s poor run continued, with a disappointing 0#2 defeat to Colombe sportive of the Dja and Lobo. Cotonsport is now winless in six consecutive games. Their last win in the league, was a 1#0 win over Tonnerre Kalara club on January 05, 2020 (match day 15 of the championship). Wednesday February 19, 2020 will make exactly 45 days since the cotonnites last won a league game. In that same 45 days period, PWD has won two games, drawn two and lost three.

In their last meeting, cotonsport won 5#nil, thanks to Gueme Araina’s four goals and a screamer from Thomas Etta Bawak.

For Avion Academy, it has been a difficult second round for the littoral club, as they have suffered five straight defeats.

For Tonnerre Kalara club, the situation has been catastrophic, as the Kalara Boys have suffered four consecutive defeats and are now just two points above the relegation zone.

Dragon of Yaounde has been shambolic of recent, as they have failed to pick a single point in their last two games. Their last victory was a 2#0 win over Fovu on game week 20.

Canon will certainly count on their man in form, Alphonse Kevin Assiga, who has scored three of their last four league goals, and is now the league’s co_top scorer with 10 goals, alongside PWD’s Leon Boyomo.

Coach Gabriel Zabo and his boys are in the form of their life, with six wins in their last seven games.

Second season for Fovu since their return

It will be west regional derby, when 12 placed Fovu of Baham, welcomes fourth placed BAMBOUTOS of Mbouda. The mangwa boys continue to suffer in the absence of key elements like Mark O’ojong, Ulrich Pange Lobe, Rene Ndi and Hansi Muller Mbappe, who are all with the intermediate lions.

Day 23 fixtures will offer lovers of the Cameroon league more excitement and entertainment, and there maybe lots of movements on league’s standings, when all nine day 23 games are played.
