New Stars of Douala has eliminated Feutcheu FC of Bandjoun, from the 2019 Cameroon cup. This following their 3#2 win over struggling Feutcheu, in a 16 final game played at the FECAFOOT center in Odza.
The encounter started with much intensity, as goalkeeper Tse Hart Chenwie pulled a stunning save at the second minutes of the game, to prevent New Stars from taking an early lead. One minute later, goalkeeper Patrick Lionel Kibyen brought down Yannick Vincent Ola’a in his box, and Serge Stephane converted the resulting penalty, to put Feutcheu in front.
At the 11 minutes, Antoine Ngueleu fault Frank Daniel Bille in Feutcheu’s box, and the Center referee Ngwa Blaise award a penalty, for Jacques Olih to make 1#1.
At the 41st minutes, Serge Stephane grabbed his brace, when he pounce on a loose ball from a goal mouth tussle, to give Feutcheu a 2#1 lead at half time.
New Stars effected a substitution earlier in the second segment, taking out captain Ronald Lane Lakem, and bringing in Didier Rostand Yimga, who drew New Stars level just few minutes after coming in.
Junior Tchamo Wanga will then put New Stars in the front foot, at the 71st minutes, when he send goalkeeper Tse Hart Chenwie to the back of his net for the third time in the encounter.
New Stars kept the scoreline till the end,as Feutcheu’s poor run continues. The team is now on a four match losing streak, and are out of both the cameroon cup and the title race in the league one championship. For New Stars,the win will inspire some confidence in them, as they take on unisport on Sunday.
