Foncha Street FC training for the third time in Bertoua

Foncha Street FC of Bamenda has qualified for the Cameroon second tier Championship, following their 1#0 win over Mercure SA of Bafia this Saturday in Bertoua.

The lone goal of the game came at the 34th minutes of the game, from the penalty spot, as Brilant Awahmukala Tanwie send Goalkeeper Faustine Mboule the wrong way, to put his side one goal up.

Captain Terence Chianian and his teammates kept Mercure at bay for the rest of the first segment, until when center referee Dimoya Florent send the two sides back to the dressing room, for the Break.


Mercure SA put in more offensive moves in the second segment, but were denied on several occasions by Goalkeeper Frankline Shalanyuy. Foncha Street FC will then lost their top scorer, Brilant Awahmukala Tanwie through injury 20 minutes into the second segment, as he was replaced by Robert Tawe Mbunwe. Robert Tawe almost added a second goal for Foncha Street, at the 70th minute, when his right footed cross was misjudged by Goalkeeper Faustine Mboule, and was only cleared off the goal line, by one of the defenders of Mercure SA.

Goalkeeper Frankline Shalanyuy suffered a collision late on, as the game was put on a temporal hault, for about five minutes.

Coach Anumewa Frankline and his boys held tight the end of regular play time.

Foncha Street FC becomes the first team to qualify for the league two Championship this season. Ngoundere FC and Volcan of Noun will play on Sunday to decide who picks the second ticket, while Stade FC of Bertoua and Kohi club of Maroua will fight for the third ticket in a playoff game schedule for Monday.
