Indomitable lions head coach, Clarence Seedorf has expressed satisfaction with his sides zero all draw against the squirrels of Benin, despite the lions now facing a tough challenge against Nigeria in the 8th final.
The Indomitable Lions faced to consolidate their place at the top of Group F, despite coming into the last group game as leaders. With a draw against Benin and Ghana’s 2#0 win over Benin, Cameroon and Ghana have five points each, but the Ghanians have a better goal differences.
Speaking during his post match Press conference, Seedorf said “I’m not thinking yet about Nigeria, we just finished the Match”. He further reveals his satisfaction for his sides qualification to the next round of the competition. “I am very satisfied because we are in the next round, though a bid disappointed because we wanted to win the match”.
The Dutch tactician added that “we had complete control of the Match and obviously Benin was looking for this point. We will have to improve on some few details, especially in the last part of the field, be a little smarter, create more chances”.
Seedorf however insisted that he has complete trust in the potential within his squad. “I think that the team has shown again that the potential. Full control of the first half when Benin was mounting lots pressure”, added Seedorf.
Cameroon will now face harsh rivals the super Eagles of Nigeria, on Saturday July 6th, at 5pm, in the 8th final. Nigeria finished second in pool B, behind AFCON debutants, Madagascar.
