Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire will clash for the fifth time in all competition as the Lionesses seek to extend their unbeaten record against their Ivorian counterparts.

Both teams last met in November 2018 during an International friendly in Ibajan which ended 2-2.

Cameroon have always had the better of Ivory Coast and have never lost to them in any of their four previous appearances winning three times.

Rivalries between both countries can be traced as far back as 2012 during the group stage of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Bata-Equatorial Guinea. Cameroon thrashed Cote d’Ivoire 4-1.

In October 2014, Cameroon beat Ivory Coast 2-1 at extra time during the semi final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Namibia.

A year later, Cameroon roared loudest by edging Cote d’Ivoire 3-2 in Abijan during an international friendly game.

It was in November 2018 that Ivory Coast drew 2-2 with Cameroon still in a friendly game in Abijan-the best performance against their continental rivals.

Cote d’Ivoire Host Cameroon on Saturday during the first leg, fourth round of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers.

The return leg fixture will take place in Cameroon next week.
