Barely hours before Cameroon’s last group game at the 2019 Under 17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has gathered that 16-year old AS Internationale defender Severin Junior Ze Essono will captain the Cameroon team this evening against Spain.

The central will make his first start at the World Cup this evening against Group E leaders, Spain

Cameroon has not announced it’s starting XI players to face Spain. This online portal understands Ze will wear the armband and not Fabrice Ndzie.

Fabrice Ndzie is the regular captain of the team with Steve Mvoue as vice captain but Ze has been handed the responsibility to lead tonight.

Born on the 21st of July 2003,the young defender will be wearing the armband for just the first time with this category of the Cameroon national selection.

He replaced injured François Bere in the second segment of the game against Argentina and has been very reliable whenever he is in the team.

Ze and Nang played as the central defensive pair in the final of the 2019 Under 17 AFCON in Tanzania.

The game kicks off at 5 PM in Brasilia which will be 9 PM in Cameroon.

Cameroon with zero points must win the game to nurse any chance of staying in the competition.
