The Under 17 Lions of Cameroon have recorded their first win in their first outing in their ongoing preparations camp for the 2019 Under 17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The boys of coach Thomas Libih defeated the Under 17 side of Brasilia FC by three goals to one this Sunday evening.

A 22nd-minute strike from Samuel Bakia Nongoh set the much changed Cameroon side on their way victory. Second half goals Eba Adrien in the 55th minutes fand Yannick Noah completed the job for Cameroonians.

Determined to end a run of three consecutive defeats,Ben Nassourou and Co starved their opponents of the ball all afternoon at the Serejao stadium.

Eba Adrien and Yannick Noah got two additional goals for Cameroon in the second half and the Brazilians pulled one back but the Lions back but the kept it tide till full time walking away with a 3-1 win.

The victory ends a run of three consecutive defeats for the boys of coach Libiih with the confidence of Yannick Noah and the great performance of Eba Adrien as additional positive factors on the day.

The team retired to their hotel after the game and will continue preparations for the World Cup with practice sessions and other friendlies in Brazil.

Selected players from abroad including the son of the great Samuel Eto’o, Etienne Eto’o, Barel Fotso Enzo Tchato amongst others will join the camp this week.

The World Cup proper begins on October 26th but Cameroon enter the competition on the 29th with a first game against Tajikistan.
