Cameroon’s head of medical staff at the 2019 Under 17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil Dr Bidias has told that the team will be without goalkeeping sensation Ekoi Manfred Mekumba when Cameroon face Spain on Sunday.

The 17 year old Best Stars Academy player was substituted in Cameroon’s 3-1 defeat against Argentina in Vitoria on Tuesday.

Unfortunately for Ekoi findings on the the gravity of his ankle injury shows that he can’t be ready in time to play on Sunday.

Cameroon will have to rely on either deputy keepers Beubap Bruno and Tiwa Yvan Lafont when they face Group E leaders Spain in Brasilia on Sunday.

Ekoi has been the stand out performer for Cameroon at the tournament but the multiple fouls on the young keeper on Thursday have finally knocked him off.

Cameroon face Spain on Sunday with a slim chance of qualifying for the knock of stage of the competition should they beat Spain and other Results go their way.
