Cameroonian forwards Alioum Moubarak Seidou of Sahel FC and Nelson Jean Baptiste Djembe of EFBC will not be a part of the Cameroon team at the upcoming under 17 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.
16-year old Alioum has been dropped from the 21 players squad already out in Brazil while 17-year old Nelson Jean Baptiste Djembe is currently nursing an ankle problem which is estimated not to be over before the beginning of the World Cup.
Alioum and Djembe have been an important part of the team’s success in the past especially at the regional qualifiers tournament were Alioum was named the most valuable player of the tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
Cameroon is currently in Brazil with 21 local players, but more players from Europe are expected in the days ahead to compete the squad which will be in Brazil until October 26 when the World Cup begins.
Cameroon enters the competition on the 29th of this month with their first outing against Tajikistan before Spain and Argentina later.
Beyond the football part of it, Djembe’s jokes which brought extra life to the team in good and bad times will be missed by his mates.
