18-year old Cameroonian midfielder Daouda Amadou has joined MLS side Colorado Rapids on on a season long loan from Czech Republic outfit MFK Vyskov
The club took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the arrival of the former Oyili FC of YaoundΓ© midfield kingpin.
“We have signed Cameroonian midfielder Daouda Amadou to the 2022 Rapids 2 roster,” a club tweet read.
The combative midfielder joined MFK last October from Oyili FC where he had spent four years, featuring in over 100 games.
His early days in Czech Republic attracted interest from across the board thus explaining Rapids quick move to get him on board.
βDaouda is a dynamic two-way midfielder who despite his age brings significant international experience with him to the club. His ability to influence the game on both sides of the ball will be a valuable asset to the group. Daouda has a tremendous upside and we look forward to getting him into our environment as quickly as possible,β Rapids 2 General Manager Brian Crookham explained.
The teenage brings loads of experience on board and is expected to start his development with Rapids 2.
Daouda starred in Cameroonβs run in to winning the 2019 Under-17 AFCON title in Tanzania, scooping the man of the match award in the final ahead of international colleague Steve Mvoue who was named most valuable player of the tournament.
The 2018 UNIFFAC winner and winner of the 2019 Under-17 AFCON is highly-rated in back in Cameroon and is expected to blossom abroad.
Amadou is expected to move to the US and join Rapids 2 in the days ahead and will compete with Rapids for the remainder of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season.
